My Pilates Classes
Every class I teach is different so never the same class to keep it interesting and challenge different muscle groups. Correct form is important to me and this is talked through in detail during every exercise.
As my Pilates classes are mixed ability different levels are always offered so you can tailor make it to what’s right for you. I also offer modifications or alternatives for people suffering from any physical issues such as back or shoulder pain.
See FAQs for more information.
Online Classes
My Pilates classes were all originally taught in local venues but since Covid-19 hit, I began teaching the classes live online via Zoom. Everyone has their camera off so you can only see me teaching which I believe helps focus as less distraction whilst participating in class.
The response to this change has been amazing, and it seems to work for everyone in terms of flexibility with the busy lives we lead. Offering the Unlimited Plus package for live classes and recordings means that my clients no longer need to miss a class, and can keep up the regular practice at a time that’s right for them.

FAQs
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on improving flexibility, strength, and overall body awareness. It emphasizes controlled movements, proper breathing, and alignment to enhance physical and mental well-being.
Is Pilates suitable for beginners?
Yes, Pilates is suitable for all fitness levels, including beginners. Classes often offer modifications to accommodate varying levels of experience and fitness, allowing participants to progress at their own pace.
What should I wear to a Pilates class?
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Most people prefer form-fitting attire to help instructors observe and correct body alignment. Non-slip socks are often recommended.
Do I need to bring any equipment to a Pilates class?
Just a mat and water bottle. I sometimes use Pilates rings in my classes, but you don’t need one as you can do the same exercises without it.
How often should I attend Pilates classes to see results?
The frequency of Pilates classes depends on individual goals and fitness levels. For general fitness maintenance, attending 2 classes per week is often recommended either with me or at home, online. Consistency is key for optimal results.
Can Pilates help with weight loss?
While Pilates primarily focuses on building strength, flexibility, and toning muscles, it can contribute to weight loss when combined with a healthy diet and cardiovascular exercise. It enhances overall fitness and can be part of a well-rounded weight management plan.
Can Pilates help with back pain?
Yes, Pilates is often recommended for individuals with back pain. The emphasis on core strength, proper alignment, and controlled movements can help alleviate and prevent back pain by improving overall posture and spinal stability.
What's the difference between Pilates and yoga?
While both Pilates and yoga focus on mind-body connection and use controlled movements, Pilates tends to emphasize strength, stability, and precision of movement, while yoga often incorporates more fluid and dynamic poses with a focus on flexibility and relaxation. However, in my classes some basic yoga stretches are incorporated and relaxation at the end of class.
